About Tim

Born in Blackpool England in 1960 Tim is a devoted family man married for 27 years with 2 sons Dave aged 24 and Richard aged 21. Tim has an older sister Alison and younger brother Phil, and baby sister Anne who at the date of launching this site has just given birth to her first child William Herbert Kneen (God Bless).

Although Tim is proud of his Birth place he has lived in a variety of locations throughout England, including Rutland, Cambridge, Coventry and Bradford, during his early teens, due to his parents (Bert and Val) vocation as rehabilitation workers.

During his teenage years Tim was a keen sportsman representing Blackpool School Boys Football Club, followed by trials for Coventry Rugby Union and Bradford Bulls Rugby League. At the age of 16 Tim took up Moto X and enjoyed several years of top level amateur racing. At the ripe old age of 46 Tim still remains competitive albeit at the slightly more sedate sport of golf.

Prior to becoming a professional singer in 1998 Tim had previous employment as a Draughtsman, a Policeman and a Postman each of which have contributed to his honest and rounded approach to life and work.

Tim quickly became a respected singer in his specialist area of 'Swing' music, and he has an impressive and extensive selection of songs from the era (Approx 230 and growing).

Such is his love for the music and his ability to accurately deliver the style, he now regularly performs Rat Pack Tributes, and when he is not performing or rehearsing he can often be found reading any number of biographies, or studying footage of his chosen mentors. His repertoire goes further to include hits from other great artists from the era, such as; Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Matt Monro to name a few.

Whilst specializing in 'Swing' Tim regularly incorporates other styles of music into his act including hits from the 60's, Rock & Roll, etc enabling him to entertain a wide range of age groups and tastes.

Tim is a warm, honest and reliable person. He is strongly supported by his family mainly his wife Jan who accompanies him to all his performances and does all his sound for him, leaving Tim free to concentrate on his audience and fully interact with them, which is where his sense of humour flows getting the audience involved laughing and joining in the fun and singing along to many of the songs.

During Tim's performance you will be captivated by his natural timing for this Genre and wooed with the power and fun of the music. Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr, and Bobby Darin all had one thing in common they loved what they did, and had fun whilst doing it, and it showed, this is also true for Tim who has often remarked that the day he stops enjoying his trade is the day he stops performing. Believing; if the passion dies you cannot deliver a good performance.

The Future?

Where do I see myself in a few years time?

Top of the Charts, Platinum Album, the Movies, oops sorry thought I was on The X Factor for a moment. Well it would seem the Albert Hall is the place to be, but I'm in no rush a year or two's time will be fine !

On a Serious note I would love the opportunity to spread the music further and become a recognised Swing' singer throughout the UK and maybe even Europe as I have performed in France (The South of France being my favourite holiday destination) a couple of times with local bands, with the laid back nature of the country lending itself perfectly to the style of music. Though I believe my repertoire is already quite extensive, there are still many songs I yearn to, need to, intend to learn, my only delay being the shortage of hours in each day.

In closing I would like to say I DO have a very genuine passion for my music which I believe comes across when I perform, It's infectious, and for want of better words, I want to spread the infection ! Probably the most important elements for me are that people enjoy my performances and that I am able to play my small part in keeping alive this wonderful era of, Music, Musicians and ENTERTAINERS.

For those lucky enough to have witnessed such a great era, and those like myself who can only dream, maybe I can take you there for a couple of hours to re-live;

A memory, a dream or maybe just a moment.
You're almost there, can you feel it ??
I Can !! Let Me Take You There.

Tim's Wish List !!!

Tim has written lyrics to several songs and would welcome the opportunity of getting together with a musician/s to compose the backings. (Swing minded would be his preference)

In addition to his wish to produce his own songs, Tim has a deep desire to sing in front of a Swing' Band to truly replicate the era he represents, Contact him what have you got to lose ??

A Big Thank You

I would like to take this opportunity to THANK EVERYONE who has helped me to get this far;

In particular a Very Special Thanks to my Loving and supporting wife Jan who is always present, who's help and support has, without a doubt made all this possible.

Also to my two Sons Dave and Roo (who are also my Best friends) and all my family and friends (You know who you are ! ) who's continued interest and encouragement is a constant inspiration.

Finally, but by no means least, my new found friend Doug, who's shared passion for swing music and belief in my ability, has led him to devote a huge amount of his time and considerable talent in designing and creating these pages.

[Awww.shucks..I can't take too much of the credit. I passed the main design job onto my GREAT staff at www.bestdesigns.co.uk. I did enjoy doing the videos though !!]
